Stephenson Harwood wins at WealthBriefingAsia Awards 2022

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has won two awards – 'Estate Planning (Southeast Asia)' and 'Estate Planning (Greater China)' – at the WealthBriefingAsia Awards 2022. Partners Kevin Lee and Suzanne Johnston were also recognised in the 'Outstanding Contribution to Wealth Management' and 'Wealth Management Rising Star under 40' categories respectively.

The awards, presented at a ceremony in Singapore, recognise outstanding achievements and progress across the Asia wealth management sphere during the last year. The awards are judged by expert panels from across the industry who look for independence, integrity and genuine insight when choosing the winners.

Judges commended the firm's "comprehensive scope of service within the estate planning area" and highlighted how its "unparalleled experience has helped numerous valuable families across South-East Asia and the Greater China Region". Commenting on Lee's achievement, the panel said: "the winner’s strong leadership skills have ensured his team is one the strongest in the region." When discussing Johnston's entry, the judges described it as "a unique submission in this highly contested category from an individual who leads by example within Stephenson Harwood."

Lee is head of the firm’s private wealth practice in Greater China, and one of the leading private wealth, tax and trust practitioners in Asia Pacific. He also advises on family businesses, and has represented corporate clients on commercial transactions and establishing operations in Hong Kong.

Johnston specialises in international tax and wealth planning, with a focus on advising high net worth individuals, professional trustees, family offices and private banks based in the UK and Asia. She has in-depth experience across different practice areas within private wealth, and in multiple jurisdictions across the Asia Pacific region.
